The Milams have developed Henson Farms, Henson Forest and Autumn Lake in Summerfield and are development partners in Riverside in Oak Ridge.

High Point Realtors sponsor toy drive
The High Point Regional Association of Realtors is gathering toys for the Ward Street Mission.
Through its Holiday Toy Drive the association is collecting board games and hand-held games; dolls and doll clothes; preschool-age riding toys; educational books, games and toys for children up to age 12; cars and trucks; and children’s clothing, including socks, gloves, mittens, caps, hats and coats.

CCIM chapter wins President’s Cup
The North Carolina CCIM chapter earned the first place award in the tier one category of the President’s Cup competition conducted by the CCIM Institute at meetings held recently in Chicago for chapter leaders from around the nation.
The President’s Cup award is given to Chapters of CCIM Institute, the governing body of the largest commercial real estate broker network in the world to recognize innovative programs, including membership recruitment, retention, promotion, new members, new designees, education promotion, special events and fundraisers.
The North Carolina CCIM Chapter is based at the offices of the Greensboro Regional Realtors Association.

Habitat ReStore celebrates renovation project
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro’s ReStore — which was renovated over the summer — will have a grand opening ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The ReStore, located at 3826 High Point Road, is currently open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The store offers bargain prices on new and used furniture, building materials and many other items for the home.
Since opening eight years ago, the store has generated enough money to build
39 houses and has recycled over 5,000 tons of materials. Donations of items in good condition are accepted.
Jan Secor School sets last pre-licensing class for ’08
Jan Secor School of Real Estate will hold its last pre-licensing class of 2008 from Nov. 12 through Dec. 18.
The class meets from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, with no classes scheduled the week of Thanksgiving. The class is scheduled at the Greensboro school at 4-C Oak Branch Drive, and the fee is $395.
Continuing education courses scheduled through the end of the year include an update class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 17 and a buyer representation course from 2 to 6 p.m. the same day. Both will be held in Greensboro. An update class also will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 24 at Prudential Carolinas Realty, 500 Pineview, Suite 201, in Kernersville. Cost is $40 per class.
