Wade Jurney Homes and Bank of America are holding a homebuyer seminar Saturday at Riverdale Ridge in Greensboro.
 
Vickie Foust, a home lender with Bank of America, will explain the differences between a loan process preapproval and prequalification. Tips on increasing credit report scores and getting the best interest rate also will be discussed. The goal is offer homebuyers a full picture of the buying and building process.

TriadBizWiz hosts seminar with Lou Brown

TriadBizWiz is bringing Lou Brown to Greensboro for a one-day event Saturday. Brown is a 30-year veteran investor, known as “the king of cash flow.”

Design, fashion businesses hold fundraiser Thursday
 
Several local businesses are sponsoring a holiday luncheon, fashion show and silent auction from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at The Secret Tearoom on State Street. Proceeds benefit the Chordoma Cancer Research Foundation.
 
The event will feature home decor and tablescapes by Elements of Style Interiors and fashions from Judie on State and Monkee’s of Irving Park. Admission is $30 per person. Reservations are required; call 271-4300. For information about the foundation, visit www.chordomafoundation.org.

Heart Gallery returns to Coldwell Banker office

Coldwell Banker Triad Realtors is sponsoring the Heart Gallery Exhibit in its Greensboro branch for the second year.

The Heart Gallery, on display through Nov. 30, relies on artistic portraits of foster children to raise awareness about foster care and special needs adoption with the goal of attracting prospective families. The exhibit showcases children from across the state and is a partnership with the N.C. Kids Adoption and Foster Care Network, a resource provided by the N.C. Division of Social Services through UNCG.

The public is invited to attend the Heart Gallery exhibit in the office located at 1505 Westover Terrace from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Informational sessions on foster care and special needs adoption will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 9 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13 Representatives from N.C. Kids Adoption and Foster Care Network will be available to answer questions, and light refreshments will be served.
